01 Regulatory Trends
The new Clarity Act in the U.S. introduces ethical guidelines for federal officials regarding cryptocurrency issuance, directly addressing the controversy over public officials profiting from issuing coins. This compromise attempt aims to clear legislative hurdles, but core disagreements between the two parties on enforcement authority and consumer protection remain. If the bill passes, it will clarify the responsibilities and powers of U.S. cryptocurrency regulation; however, whether it can make it through Congress before recess remains uncertain.
The U.S. SEC is preparing for U.S. stocks to move towards 23×5 near-round-the-clock trading, gradually dissolving traditional stock market trading time barriers. This directly impacts the core narrative of RWA, which relies on 7×24 trading, but on-chain instant settlement, programmability, and the absence of weekend trading still retain unique advantages. The focus of competition in the RWA sector will shift towards composability and cross-border convenience, marking a turning point in the industry's value logic reconstruction.
02 Cryptocurrency Discussions
The focus of competition in the cryptocurrency industry is gradually shifting towards compliance and integration with traditional finance. OKX has appointed former New York Governor Cuomo to its board, leveraging his deep political resources to navigate U.S. regulatory channels. Coupled with the establishment of a joint venture with ICE to lay out tokenized financial infrastructure, this move aims to resolve past compliance penalties and build a bridge connecting digital assets with Wall Street, clearing key obstacles for expanding into the U.S. market.
Movement Labs hastily signed a market-making agreement fraught with risks, leading to concentrated sell-offs of tokens after their listing, resulting in a complete collapse of project trust. After internal conflicts among founders, judicial investigations, and debt accumulation, this team, which once held $38 million in funding and had a valuation dream of $3 billion, ultimately faced bankruptcy. The rapid disappearance of its former glory serves as a profound warning for token issuance, market-making collaboration, and corporate governance in the cryptocurrency industry.
The trading volume in prediction markets continues to surge, but serious insider trading issues have emerged. On-chain data shows that many insiders are profiting by betting on geopolitical military secrets, with new "disposable" wallets and collaborative account clusters becoming common tactics. Current platform identification remains controversial, and multiple countries are accelerating regulatory actions. Distinguishing between in-depth research and illegal insider trading has become a core challenge that prediction markets urgently need to address.
A report from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime indicates that losses from online fraud in the Asia-Pacific region have skyrocketed year after year, with Southeast Asia forming a large-scale transnational scam industry. Relying on cryptocurrency channels like USDT on the Tron blockchain, criminal groups have built a complete money laundering network, compounded by AI deep forgery and continuous upgrades in satellite communication technology. The industrialization of scam parks and cross-border movements to evade law enforcement highlight the limitations of traditional countermeasures, making transnational collaborative governance imperative.
The well-known cryptocurrency institution Multicoin Capital has released its mid-year report on the secondary market: accurately betting on HYPE and ZEC yielded considerable profits, but it suffered significant losses with AAVE and ENA. This mixed report not only confirms the institution's ability to capture hot narratives but also exposes misjudgments regarding the value expectations of DeFi tokens, providing important references for heavy investments in the cryptocurrency market.
03 Project Insights
Circle's native public chain Arc is expected to launch its mainnet Beta this summer, with the ecosystem already heating up during the testnet phase. The ecosystem currently includes official funding for emerging market payment infrastructure and partnerships with leading institutions, while also seeing the emergence of community projects like DEX, NFT, and Meme. At this stage, caution is needed against false cross-chain bridge scams, and all participation should be based on official announcements, awaiting the official narrative of this stablecoin public chain.
Robinhood Chain is rapidly rising, breaking Base's previous growth rhythm. In the face of competitive pressure, Base has repeatedly exposed strategic missteps, centralization shortcomings, and community trust crises. Despite having a high TVL advantage, the slow progress in decentralization and lagging RWA layout are concerning. External competition forces Base to confront its chronic issues; only by addressing technical shortcomings and reshaping its narrative can it maintain its competitive position in the exchange's L2.
Hyperliquid has officially disclosed the HIP-4 results for permissionless deployment guidelines, with staking thresholds equal to HIP-3 at 500,000 HYPE, introducing a template approval and quota mechanism. Referencing the trading volume explosion brought by HIP-3's open ecosystem, this move aims to expand the supply of prediction markets. However, potential challenges such as liquidity dispersion and concentration of deployers will still test Hyperliquid's competitiveness in the prediction market sector.
Robinhood CEO Vlad's social media dynamics have shifted market attention to the newly launched Pons launchpad. Within a week of its launch, the platform has captured the outflow traffic from NOXA, with the volume of tokens and trading data rising rapidly. Leveraging a unique Uniswap V3 liquidity mechanism and a buyback and burn model for transaction fees, it aims to seize the market. However, the extremely low project graduation rate hides potential risks. In this L2 meme launchpad competition, whether short-term enthusiasm can translate into sustained wealth effects remains a question that Pons urgently needs to validate.
The leading launch platform in the meme sector, shturl.c, has introduced a new BOOST model, reconstructing the liquidity distribution rules for token graduation. The platform will convert 20% of the originally locked LP, which formed idle dead capital, into buy orders for TWAP repurchases and burns five minutes after token migration. This move aims to create short-term market effects and activate trading enthusiasm, but the risks of selling pressure after brief protection and the proliferation of low-quality tokens have sparked ongoing market debates.
