China Calls for Resumption of Dialogue Between the U.S. and Iran
China has urged the United States and Iran to resume dialogue amid rising tensions. The situation in the Middle East, intertwined with the Strait of Hormuz and oil flows, has also highlighted geopolitical risks in the cryptocurrency market. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized the need for diplomatic engagement between the U.S. and Iran, advocating for political and diplomatic solutions over military confrontation. The conflict between the U.S. and Iran is linked to navigation issues in the Strait of Hormuz, and tensions in the region could impact international oil prices, maritime transport, and the strength of the dollar. In the South Korean market, this could also affect oil prices, exchange rates, and the preference for risk assets. Prediction markets have partially reflected the possibility of diplomatic contacts, but the likelihood of meetings remains low. In the cryptocurrency market, geopolitical risks cannot definitively determine short-term price directions. Future official responses from U.S. and Iranian authorities could alter market expectations regarding diplomacy.
