Ozon Moves Goods to Kazakhstan, Waives Transportation Fees
The Russian marketplace Ozon has offered sellers the opportunity to store their products in its logistics warehouses in Almaty and Astana. The company plans to serve the markets of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as deliver goods to customers in Russia. To encourage the transfer of stock outside of the Russian Federation, Ozon has waived transportation fees for shipments to Kazakh logistics centers until September 30, 2026. There are no limits on the volume of shipments, oversized items can be stored, and no additional documents are required for sending products to Kazakhstan. The change in logistics routes comes amid attacks by Ukrainian drones on Ozon's infrastructure, including strikes on its largest hub in the Samara region. Nearly 35% of the company's shares are owned by the structure "O23," linked to oligarch Gennady Timchenko, while about a third of the shares are controlled by the AFK "Sistema" corporation. Ozon has lost $2.2 billion in capitalization due to drone attacks, leading to a collapse of its shares on the Moscow Exchange.
