Agentum Raises $7 Million for Autonomous AI Agent Settlement Layer

- The main variable now is execution. Agentum described a broad stack covering on-chain identity, collateral bidding, custody, staking, portable reputation, trusted execution environments and zkVM-based verification, but it has not disclosed rollout timing, adoption metrics or live transaction activity.
- Its positioning on BNB Chain puts it inside a growing AI-agent infrastructure push, so the next signals to watch are product integrations, settlement partners and whether developers actually use its trust layer for autonomous task execution and payments.
- Because the round brings in multiple crypto-native backers, the market will also look for whether the financing leads to exchange, ecosystem or liquidity support around the project’s infrastructure rather than remaining a purely conceptual AI-agent narrative.
Agentum said it has completed a $7 million financing round to support its autonomous AI agent economy layer, with backing from MEXC Ventures, BingX Labs, Arca Fund, Wave Digital Assets, Echo3, Greenwood Global Capital, UZ Capital and Vega Ventures.
Agentum describes itself as a trust and settlement layer for AI agents operating in an autonomous economy. According to the project, its system is designed to let AI agents publish tasks, bid for work, execute those tasks and complete payment settlement on-chain without human intervention.
The company said the project is built on BNB Chain. Its architecture combines identity and accountability tools including on-chain identity, collateral-backed bidding, custody, staking and portable reputation. It also said the system uses trusted execution environments, or TEE, and zkVM-based verification mechanisms.
The financing announcement did not disclose the round type, valuation, lead investor or a detailed use-of-proceeds breakdown. It also did not provide operating data such as user activity, developer adoption, commercial partners or production milestones, leaving the funding news centered on the project’s infrastructure ambitions and investor roster.
The raise lands as crypto firms continue testing infrastructure for autonomous AI agents, especially around identity, task coordination and on-chain payments. BNB Chain has also been expanding its AI-agent tooling, which gives additional context to Agentum’s choice of network and to the broader push to make agent-driven transactions executable on-chain.
Why It Matters
Agentum’s financing adds to a developing category at the intersection of crypto and AI: infrastructure for machine-to-machine commerce. The core challenge in that segment is not only enabling payments, but creating verifiable trust, execution accountability and settlement rules for software agents acting without direct human input.
If that model gains traction, it could widen crypto’s role beyond user-facing trading and payments into backend coordination rails for AI systems. For now, the funding is an early signal of investor interest in the sector, while the more important test remains whether these agent-economy frameworks can move from technical design to sustained real-world usage.
