Ukrainian State Budget Receives 17.9 Billion Hryvnias in Military Tax for July 2026
In July 2026, the special fund of the Ukrainian state budget received 17.9 billion hryvnias in military tax. As of July 1, 2026, a new procedure for the allocation of these funds came into effect, under which all revenues from military tax payments are directed exclusively to the monetary compensation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel. The military tax, introduced in 2014, remains a key tool for attracting internal resources for the state. In the first half of 2026, nearly 94.24 billion hryvnias in military tax was received in the general fund of the state budget, which, combined with the beginning of the year, exceeds 112 billion hryvnias. Funding for the security and defense sector is also provided from other state budget revenues, including corporate profit tax, VAT, personal income tax, excise tax, rent payments, and dividends from state enterprises. The possibility of introducing a new tax for recovery after the end of martial law is being considered.
