Para Discusses Wallet Permission Management for AI Agents
The management of wallet permissions has emerged as a key infrastructure in the holding and payment of stablecoins by AI agents. The usage conditions and permission settings for agents must be verified first. Nitiya Subramanian, CEO of Para, emphasized the importance of permission settings to prevent overspending while discussing the wallet infrastructure for AI agents. Last December, Para unveiled its transaction permission feature, distinguishing between authentication and authorization. When using the same wallet across multiple applications, different spending permissions must be set for each app. In order for AI agents to purchase goods, spending limits and transaction conditions are needed in addition to payment methods. Coinbase introduced the X402 payment protocol, explaining a structure where buyers verify prices and gain access rights after payment. The Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) focuses on standardizing the purchasing process between AI agents and sellers. The trend of treating stablecoins as payment and settlement infrastructure is continuing domestically, and discussions are ongoing regarding the integration of AI agents and stablecoins. The case of Para illustrates that competition in agentic commerce is expanding into wallet control structures.
