Trial for Loan Peña: New Hearing with Three Witnesses in Corrientes

The trial for the disappearance of Loan Danilo Peña will hold its twelfth hearing this Thursday in Corrientes. The court will hear from three key witnesses in the investigation. Among them is Juan Osvaldo Ronelli, a specialist from the Chemical Laboratory Division of the Argentine Federal Police, who conducted analyses on stains found in a Ford Ranger belonging to one of the defendants, Carlos Pérez. Ronelli indicated that it cannot be ruled out that certain marks observed with luminol correspond to human blood. María Victoria Caillava, Pérez's partner, argued that the stains could be a result of the vehicle's regular use. However, the dealership has no records of technical service during the analyzed period. The investigation also included odorology tests with dogs, which detected traces compatible with Loan in the Ranger and a Ford Ka linked to Caillava. The defendants maintain that both vehicles were voluntarily taken to the police without isolation measures, which could have contaminated the odors. Commissioner Fabio Pirrone, who coordinated the search operations, detailed that land, water, and air resources were used, but the minor was not located. Luis Alberto González, former vice mayor of 9 de Julio, will testify about the role of local authorities in organizing the search. The hearing will begin at 9:30 AM and is part of a key stage in the trial, which seeks to reconstruct the events following the child's disappearance on June 13, 2024.
