Iran's UN Mission: Allegation of Iran Blocking the Strait of Hormuz Unfounded
BlockBeats News, March 6th, according to CCTV News, on March 5th, the Iranian Permanent Mission to the United Nations posted on social media local time, stating that the claim that Iran had blocked the Strait of Hormuz was baseless and utterly absurd. Iran has always adhered to international law and upheld freedom of navigation.
The mission stated: "In fact, the real threat to maritime security is the United States. Just yesterday, about 2000 miles from the Iranian coast, the Iranian frigate 'Jamaran,' carrying 130 sailors and conducting a naval visit in India, was unjustly sunk by a U.S. submarine in international waters, resulting in the deaths of over 100 sailors. This reckless attack violated basic principles of international law and freedom of navigation."
