10 Non-Banking Institutions Closed in Ukraine in August
In August 2026, the number of participants in the non-banking financial services market in Ukraine decreased by 10 companies, totaling 717 institutions. The number of banking institutions remained unchanged at 59. The National Bank revoked the licenses of one non-life insurer, two financial companies, and three credit unions, and also forcibly canceled the licenses of three financial companies. Five financial companies and three credit unions, one non-life insurer, and one insurance broker were removed from the registers. As of September 1, there are 378 financial companies, 43 non-life insurers, 10 life insurers, one insurer with special status, 96 pawnshops, 76 credit unions, one leasing company, 40 insurance brokers, and 72 collection companies operating in the non-banking market. The number of banking groups has decreased to 14, while 40 non-banking financial groups remain. In the payment sector, 13 payment systems and 10 international systems continue to operate. In total, the regulator processed 169 requests regarding registration and licensing actions in August.
