XRP Ledger Developing Lending and Confidential Transfer Features
The XRP Ledger is pushing for an institutional infrastructure expansion that includes lending, vaults, confidential transfers, and permission delegation features. This change is not about providing automatic profits or private transfers to Ripple holders, but rather corresponds to a roadmap that still has validator approvals and implementation procedures pending. According to the official XRP Ledger documentation, features such as LendingProtocolV1_1, SingleAssetVault, ConfidentialTransfer, and PermissionDelegationV1_1 are under development. Credit assessments will be conducted off-chain, while execution will be handled on-chain. Ripple explained that the XRP Ledger lending protocol is a model that assesses credit externally and standardizes the execution and repayment of loans on-chain. The single-asset vault can hold XRP, trustline tokens, and MPT, while the confidential vault must meet specific conditions. Privacy features will only be available to MPT holders and will apply only to direct transfers between accounts. The permission delegation feature is a mechanism that enhances operational convenience and security, allowing delegated accounts to execute only limited permissions. The lending feature is connected to institutional credit infrastructure, and Clearpool has already begun developing a lending protocol based on the XRP Ledger. The expansion of features does not imply risk removal, but signifies an expanded scope of use for XRP holders.
