Trump: Does not rule out sending ground troops to Iran, does not care about polls at all
According to the New York Post, Trump recently stated that he does not rule out the possibility of sending U.S. ground troops to Iran "if necessary," and claimed that after launching the attack on Saturday, he "doesn't care about polls."
Trump expressed that he believes he did the "right thing," and that most Americans support him—despite initial polls showing otherwise. He argued that allowing "crazy people" to obtain nuclear weapons would have consequences even worse than regional conflicts.
Trump said, "I have no concerns about sending troops to the ground. Unlike other presidents who always say 'I will never send ground troops.' I don't say that; I say 'they may not be needed,' or 'if necessary.'"
Polls conducted by Reuters/Ipsos over the weekend showed that only 27% of Americans support the attack, while 43% oppose it, and 29% are uncertain.
