The Llano Blanco Geopark, located in the Malargüe department of Mendoza, is an attraction for paleontology enthusiasts. Situated 495 kilometers from the provincial capital, it is known for its trail in the Petrified Forest, where trees millions of years old can be observed. This circuit is the main attraction of the park, which also offers the Old Mill and Estancia circuits, self-guided tours to explore adobe ruins from 1860. The low light pollution allows for excellent stargazing and viewing of the Milky Way. The journey from Mendoza takes between 5 and 6 hours via National Route 40. There is no direct public transport to the Geopark, so it is recommended to reach Malargüe to access guided tours or taxis. The local cuisine includes the Malargüe goat, a standout dish.
