DeepSeek Plans to Expand to 1,000 Employees, Hiring 150 Backend and Agent Positions
DeepSeek aims to expand its team to approximately 1,000 employees this year. Although this number has not been publicly confirmed, the expansion has already begun. In June, the company announced that all departments would at least double in size, and this week it opened around 150 positions for backend and agent infrastructure recruitment. This round of expansion is not limited to model research; the latest hiring covers large model research platforms, agent frameworks, APIs, online services, data engineering, and elastic computing. Choi Tianyi, head of the Harness team, stated that the demand for data, machines, training and evaluation tasks, agent environments, and user requests is rapidly increasing, necessitating continuous upgrades and even rewrites of the existing backend systems.
