Odaily News Citi analysts said they expect the minutes to suggest that the trajectory of interest rates will depend on data released in June, July and August, consistent with what Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said at a congressional hearing. Powell laid the groundwork for a possible rate cut at the Feds September meeting, provided that price increases caused by tariffs do not show signs of leading to persistent inflation and the economy continues to create enough jobs to prevent unemployment from rising too quickly. The wait-and-see period may end in late summer, Citi analysts said. (Jinshi)
