After the Fusaka upgrade, the transaction count of stablecoin "dust" attacks on Ethereum has increased 2 to 3 times.
BlockBeats News, February 4th, according to Cointelegraph, Coin Metrics pointed out that since Ethereum completed the Fusaka upgrade in December 2025, network fees have dropped significantly, making on-chain operations more efficient. Currently, the average daily transaction volume of Ethereum has exceeded 2 million, and the number of active addresses has increased by 60% compared to the previous average level. Coin Metrics noted that the low Gas fees have led to a large number of "Dusting attacks": such stablecoins (USDC and USDT) "Dust Transactions" currently account for about 11% of the total Ethereum transaction volume and 26% of the daily active addresses. Before the upgrade, "Dust Transactions" accounted for only 3%-5% of the transaction volume, but after the upgrade, this ratio has tripled. A "Dusting attack" refers to a hacker sending a small amount of tokens to random addresses to track wallets or cause network disruption.
